Welcome to the second edition of OSL Monthly Updates.
October’s update highlights progress across the Open-Source Leg ecosystem from software improvements to community initiatives and new ways to stay connected.
Software Update: OSL v3.4.2 Now Live
The latest update introduces several key refinements:
- Fixes a bug in the motor constants dictionary, where derived constants now correctly use a torque constant of 0.11.
- Adds missing UV installation steps, including adding UV to the system path.
You can find the update on PyPI.
Community and Outreach
We’ll soon host our first community meeting (TBD), an open session where you can hear about the latest updates from the OSL team. If time allows, we’ll close with a short Q&A.
Our first OSL newsletter also saw strong engagement from across the research community. If you missed it, you can read the launch issue here: OSL Newsletter #1. (A subscription option will soon be added to the website for anyone who didn’t receive it.)
Research Publications
Researchers can now upload their own OSL-related papers directly to the website. Sharing your work helps others learn from your experience and highlights how the Open-Source Leg is being used across labs worldwide.
Upload your publication on the Research page at opensourceleg.org/research.
