Housing for AS5048B encoder

Hi.

In our setup, the default output encoder mount is used for mounting the Dephy AK7452 encoder board. It is part p_b0303_encoderHousing in the assembly (shown in the photo for the knee joint).

Because we’re planning to move to the new interface board, we’re interested in using the new OSL default, which is AS5048B.

Is p_b0303_encoderHousing compatible with AS5048B as well?

If there is an updated part, I’d appreciate sharing the CAD so we can 3D print it.

Also, what PCB do you use for the encoder? It is the evaluation board, or a custom design?

If it’s a custom board, are the files available to download, or can we purchase one?

More context: in the Electronics Assembly guide, the link for “AS5048B Encoder Housing” directs to the same page.

Additionally, it references an “encoder board”, but the specifics are not available.

Hi Mohsen!

The old encoder housing (p_b0303_encoderHousing) is not compatible with the AS5048B encoder. The AS5048B is instead housed using this part. The “encoder board” referenced in the Electronics Assembly guide is the AS5048B adapter board you previously linked. Hope this helps! :slightly_smiling_face:
