Timing belt specs

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to replace the timing belts on the OSL. When looking at the BOM for both the knee and ankle, I noticed there are two different codes listed:

  • GT3-5mm-325mm-belt (5mm pitch, 325mm length)

  • GT3-3mm-324mm-belt (3mm pitch, 324mm length)

Our current knee setup uses the GT3-3mm-324mm belt.

Can these two belts be used interchangeably in the leg, or are there specific structural/performance differences between them? If switching from the 3mm to the 5mm belt, do the pulleys also need to be swapped out to match the pitch?

Thanks for the help!

Hello! Yes, there are two different timing belt options (3mm pitch and 5mm pitch) that can be used in the OSL, but they are not interchangeable. The 5mm belt provides greater stiffness than the 3mm belt, but because the two belts have different pitches, switching between them also requires replacing the corresponding pulleys.

Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions
