I am trying to better understand the “pylon” design in this project.
Could you explain how the pylon is atteched to the adjacent components (such as the socket, actuator, or foot structure) ?
I would also like to ask which materials are recommended for the pylon to achieve a good balance between mechanical strength, stiffness, and lightweight performance.
Thank you for your time.
The knee and ankle modules are mounted to the pylon via tube clamp adapters. These attachments connect the prosthetic pyramid (p0002_pyramid on the OnShape document) to the pylon. They are not currently shown in the OSL OnShape document, but look similar to this example. These are outsourced components that we do not design ourselves, and we typically source them from suppliers such as Bulldog Tools. Hope this helps!
